Ovid’s Medusa Group Shots, 2013
These works belong to the Ovid’s Medusa series, which investigates different ways of deconstructing narrative. These photographs focus on the contrived nature of story telling by documenting the backstage crew and performers who helped make the other works in the series. Elsewhere these people are not visible, however here they are the subjects. Each performs playfully for the camera. Instead of posing ‘in character’ they provide an exaggerated portrait of themselves.
