The Night Diaries is a series of reflexive drawings and photographs designed to track my doctoral research. The title relates to the reflective time available while my family are sleeping. In the quiet hours of the night, I can think about my simultaneous roles (as artist, feminist, educator and researcher) in relation to the multiple axes of my identity (as mother, wife, dependent, immigrant, employee, etc). These reflexive contemplations of positionality are designed to inform my project and the collaborative making that forms part of my research. To date I have made over 100 drawings and photographs for this reflexive research journal.
