Women of the Badlands
I am chuffed to have my work included in Women of the Badlands, an exhibition celebrating the work of contemporary women artists of Nillumbik's creative centres, presented by the Women of Montsalvat project, a public art initiative supported by the Victorian Women’s Public Art Program. I am showing images from The Fringe Dwellers, a series of photographs I made at Nillumbik in 2013. Many of these works have not been exhibited before.
Nillumbik (meaning bad land or shallow earth) is home to a unique creative ecosystem, shaped by generations of artists sharing, collaborating, and building together. At the heart of this creative activity are four hubs that, for decades, have provided rare environments for artistic exploration. These places have drawn artists into the region, many of whom have stayed to establish their practice—creating a vibrant ecology unparalleled in Australia.
The exhibition runs from 5th February to the 1st of March, 2026 at Montsalvat in Australia.
